Hymn 47. Olney Hymnal. Book 1.

 John Newton

The believer’s safety.

Ps 91
Incarnate God! the soul that knows

Thy name’s mysterious power

Shall dwell in undisturbed repose,

Nor fear the trying hour.

Thy wisdom, faithfulness and love,

To feeble helpless worms;

A buckler and a refuge prove,

From enemies and storms.

In vain the fowler spreads his net,

To draw them from thy care;

Thy timely call instructs their feet,

To shun the artful snare.

When like a baneful pestilence,

Sin mows its thousands down

On every side, without defence,

Thy grace secures thine own.

No midnight terrors haunt their bed,

No arrow wounds by day;

Unhurt on serpents they shall tread,

If found in duty’s way.

Angels, unseen, attend the saints,

And bear them in their arms;

To cheer the spirit when it faints,

And guard the life from harms.

The angels’ Lord, himself is nigh,

To them that love his name;
Ready to save them when they cry,

And put their foes to shame.

Crosses and changes are their lot,

Long as they sojourn here;

But since their Savior changes not,

What have the saints to fear?

We hope you can find something useful on our website!

There are several links on this page and the other pages of our website. Some of the links will take you to sermon material (audio sermons, written sermons, Bible Conference sermons, etc...). We may not be in agreement with all of the content (or the authors) that are included in these links; however, I believe that you can find much to help or be a blessing to you in your life for Christ.

"Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." (Col 1:12-20)

There is a search engine installed on this website - at the very top of the page, on the far right. If you utilize the search engine on this site, you can search for sermon titles, sermon topics, scripture references, persons, etc... The "Sermon" page still has its own features - you can list the sermons according to title, date, speaker, text, etc... But, I think this new search engine will make it easier to locate a particular topic or keyword or name within the sermons or anywhere else on this site. If you have any questions or comments, contact us now.

Thanks for visiting our website! May God Bless you, and may God Bless America!

It is our hope and prayer that the people of God in the United States of America, would petition God to grant us a time of repentance and faith in this country. Let us pray that God would bring the souls of men and women - especially some of those who are the politicians and leaders of this Nation - to a place where they would repent of their sins, and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only Saviour and the only hope of mankind. Let us also live lives that would be a good example to the world around us. If we desire revival and peace in our Nation, then we must be willing to live as God's people should. In fact, there will be no true revival or true peace in this country, unless it would begin in the Houses of God - the Churches of the Living God.

I have recently published a new book, entitled "What About the Church? A Collection of Sermons on the Church" The book is now available at Amazon, and soon will be available at other stores. Click here to go to the Amazon storefront.

I have (3) books that are currently available at Amazon (and other bookstores). The books are entitled "Philemon and Onesimus," "The Armour of God," and "The Dangers of Sin." Click here to go to the Amazon storefront where the books are displayed. The books are available in paperback or digital format.

"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." (Matt 5:1-12)

What We Believe

"14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness."(2Tim. 2:14-16.)

The following is not meant to be an exhaustive account of what it is that we believe. Hopefully, however, the following Statement will suffice as a summary of our Beliefs. If you have further questions about what we Teach and Believe here at Indore Baptist Church, please do not hesitate to contact us.
